Club Lotto: Our weekly draw takes place every Monday night. Tickets can be purchased online, in the shops, the Post Office, and pubs, or by contacting a committee member. The jackpot for this week stands at €3,300.

Senior: Best of luck to our senior hurlers who will face JK Brackens in the Senior Hurling Championship Preliminary quarter-finals on Saturday evening in Borris-Ileigh at 4pm. Everyone come along and roar on the lads. This is knockout hurling so they need our support.

Underage:  Our U15s will face Newport in the North U15A Hurling Championship final on Saturday in Puckane at 12 noon. This is the start of a big day for the club with the seniors playing in the evening, so make sure and get to Puckane first to shout on our young stars. Best of luck to the players and management.

Table Quiz, Raffle, and Auction: A special Table Quiz, Raffle, and Auction will take place on Friday, September 26th, in the Tipperary Inn, which will celebrate the achievements of our senior hurlers who completed four county titles in a row from 1998 to 2001.

It promises to be a great occasion with plenty of prizes and memorabilia on offer. We encourage all members and supporters to mark the date in the diary and come along for what should be a memorable night.

Liam MacCarthy Cup on Tour: Sunday at St. Michael’s Park saw the Liam McCarthy Cup visit Toomevara, accompanied by local star Darragh McCarthy, as well as Paddy O’Brien, and Michael Bevans, along with Tipperary Captain Ronan Maher and corner-back Michael Breen.

Escorted by the gardai and greeted by a guard of honour, the players were welcomed by Denise Hayes and Roger Mounsey. Denise praised Darragh’s dedication from juvenile hurling to now, while acknowledging the key roles of Michael Bevans and Paddy O’Brien. Michael Bevans spoke about the importance of hurling in Toomevara and encouraged support for Darragh as he continues to develop.

Darragh addressed the crowd, highlighting underage coaching and the guidance of his father, Joe, inspiring young players to practice hard. He was presented with a watch by Roger Mounsey, while Pat Hennessey presented vouchers to Paddy and Michael. The event concluded with the county anthem Slievenamon, and the players generously signed hurleys, jerseys, and sliotars for over three hours.

Club members, with the Camogie club, ran inflatables, games, face painting, and an ice cream van for children and families, while Walter Kennedy provided music, and volunteers ensured refreshments kept flowing. The scoreboard proudly displayed Darragh’s 1:13 from the All-Ireland final, and photographs from the day were posted in the clubhouse.

Track & Tone: Toomevara GAA Club is delighted to host a new six-week block of jogging/walking and Pilates classes for adults as part of the Irish Life GAA Healthy Clubs initiative. This is a Toomevara GAA-funded initiative, so we encourage all our members to make the most of the event. It is also open to non-members so please spread the word.
