Club Lotto: Our weekly draw takes place every Monday night. Tickets can be purchased online, in the shops, the Post Office, and pubs, or by contacting a committee member. The jackpot for this week stands at €3,100.

Senior: Our senior hurlers go into a winner-takes-all clash with Kiladangan to qualify for the knockout stages. The game will take place in Dolla on Sunday, September 7th at 5pm. We wish the players and management the very best of luck.

Junior A: Our Junior A hurlers lost out in heartbreaking fashion to Nenagh Éire Óg after extra time in the North semi-final last Friday evening in Roscrea. In an exciting game, the ball just didn’t fall in the players' favour in the end, but they should be hugely proud of their efforts all year, and no doubt, they will be capable of going further in 2026.

Underage:  The U17s hurlers are preparing for the North U17A Hurling Championship quarter-final against Burgess which will take place Tuesday, September 2nd at 6:30pm in Ballina. Please come out and support our young players.

Later in the week, on Friday, September 5th, the U15 hurlers will face Kilruane MacDonaghs in the North U15A Hurling Championship semi-final. Come out and support the lads.

Table Quiz, Raffle, and Auction: A special Table Quiz, Raffle, and Auction will take place on Friday, September 26th, in the Tipperary Inn, which will celebrate the achievements of our senior hurlers who completed four county titles in a row from 1998 to 2001.

It promises to be a great occasion with plenty of prizes and memorabilia on offer. We encourage all members and supporters to mark the date in the diary and come along for what should be a memorable night.

Liam MacCarthy Cup on Tour: The club will receive the Liam MacCarthy Cup on Sunday, September 14th. We are currently in the process of organising the event, but we would urge all our members to pencil in the date in their diary and come and welcome Liam, along with our clubmen who played a part in Tipperary's All-Ireland win. We will release details of the event in due course.

As part of our celebrations,  we want to have a wall of photos of your All Ireland Day.
If you have a photo from that day (on way / at match / at celebration ) please send it by email to secretary.toomevara.tipperary@gaa.ie and we will put them all together as a backdrop for our welcoming of the McCarthy Cup.

You can also WhatsApp the photo to me at 0876737906.Please try to send them before  September 9th.

Tipperary: Well done to our underage hurlers who represented the various county and divisional teams in action in their respective competitions.

Firstly, hard luck to KJ Dunne who captained the Tipperary U15 hurlers to the Arrabawn U15 All-Ireland final in Boherlahan on Saturday. KJ played very well in the two games, firstly scoring (0-5, 0-4f) in the semi-final win over Kilkenny, before hitting (0-3, 0-1f) in the final loss to Galway. Fair play, KJ.

Masters Hurling: Congratulations to clubmen David Young, Eoin Brislane, and Paul McGrath who were part of the Tipperary Masters team who retained their All-Ireland crown by defeating Wexford last Saturday in Enniscorthy.

Jerry Kelly Tournament: We hosted our annual Jerry Kelly U11 tournament on Sunday morning. We were delighted to welcome Borris-Ileigh, JK Brackens, and Silvermines to take part.

It was a super morning of hurling with incredible skill and determination on display from all teams. Both pitches were in use, as each club had two teams taking part.

Both our teams played superbly well, and it was brilliant to see our shield team win the final after a closely fought final against Silvermines, which had to go to extra time to separate the teams!

Well done to all involved, and thanks to our young whistlers for the day.

Also, well done to Aidan O’Gorman, Oliver Duff, Dan Daly, Jayden Delaney, and Donnacha Kelly who played for the North Tipperary team in the Tony Forristal Cup U14 competition in Waterford on Saturday.

Defibrillator Locations & Codes:

  • St. Michael's Park Toomevara - The defibrillator at the GAA Field is located at the top of the steps on the left-hand side as you enter the clubhouse. The code to open is C127.
  • The Tipperary Inn - This defibrillator is located on the outside end  wall closest to Nenagh. The code is 0000.
  • Casey's Centra Toomevara - This defibrillator is located outside on the front wall of the shop, and the code is 127.

Please become familiar with these locations and individual codes. In an emergency, you may ring the emergency services, and they will advise on the nearest registered defibrillator and its code.

Traffic Management Plan: Toomevara GAA Club in response to the community evening’s suggestions and in reviewing safety have decided the following and we ask your support in its implementation.

A ‘pole barrier’ will be set up at the corner of the front toilet block to prevent vehicular traffic going towards the back field and bank. This will generally be up and lowered only on specific occasions determined by the committee.

(This would occur such as if there is a match in the main field and those who need to go to the far bank are allowed to drive there whilst training is still going on in the back field. On such occasions we would hope to have the barrier monitored)

We recommend parents to park outside and allow players to walk through the small black gate towards the fields. (Generally there will be no traffic in the walkway). There is no safety benefit if you drive into the grounds and cause congestion in front of the clubhouse.

Please try out the new plan and if you have any suggestions after the trial period send them to us. Instruct players to remain inside the grounds until you collect them afterwards if you are not waiting.

This change is required for the safety of our children and all players. We have looked at a variety of options and taking account of the specific conditions in our grounds have decided this is the best way forward.

All who enter our grounds should exercise the utmost care and remember that pedestrians always have the right of way. Observe speed limit 10km also.

New Lights: We very recently signed the contract with SB Electrical to supply and install new flood lights for our back pitch.

The lights will be of huge benefit to all our club members bringing the lighting up to match standard!
We are also upgrading our walking track lights, which will benefit our many social members and, indeed, anyone who enjoys walking/running our track during the darker evenings!!

This is on the back of our very successful fundraiser last year, "Toomevara Goes To The Movies," and also our sports capital grant. The news marks a great milestone in our plans for the future. We thank everyone for their continued support, and we look forward to completing this big project in the very near future!

We also look forward to working with SB Electrical on this venture.
