GOLF CLASSIC
A big thank you to all our teams who took part in the Golf Classic in Nenagh yesterday. Superb work by the subcommittee led by Gary Delaney and Barry Dunne including Denise Haverty, Seamus Hayes, Jackie Cuddihy, Seamus Delaney, John Grace, Pairic Shanahan and Patsy Hanley. Many others were key to the success. Thanks to Michael Berkery and FBD for their vital sponsorship and to the many generous companies and individuals. Thanks to Joe McCarthy at Caseys for supplying the snacks and water and to the prayers of so many that the day would be warm and sunny.
The estimated profit will be around €18,000 for the day to day running of the club and all details of expendiure are included in the annual financial report at the AGM.
While no one secured the hole in one at the 8th though some including Michael Delaney were very close we had a hole in one at the 15th. We were also delighted that we had a large number of juvenile teams and an additional prize was put up for the winning team.
Thanks to the Captain of Nenagh GC, Eanna and Tristan at the club shop and to Tom Doheny for the supprot offered throughout the lead up and on the day. The catering team also did a great job feeding the teams as they returned after their hard work on the course.
We look forward to next year already and now need to get in extra practice rounds.
