TOOMEVARA GAA ATHLETIC DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME

Congrats to Coaching Officer, Tommy Dunne who with Shane Hassett and Bernard Hackett have developed a unique programme for our players from 13 to senior. This will be rolled out over the next few weeks. The programme is available from them and will be on our website shortly. This is a comprehensive programme to develop key physical skills which will support them in all future sport and health activities and we thank the club and others who are support funding the programme and the coaches who are implementing them.  GREAT WORK done by all.

Ongoing Works at the Grounds

·       Thanks to Terry Dunne, John Ryan, Pat Hennessey and Donie Hogan who have been installing a stone soakage pit in the back field to deal with the effects of water during the springtime.
·       Thanks to Eamon Hartnett who is organising the replacement of over 25 ceiling lights which need renewal in the clubhouse and additional rooms.
·       Thanks to Michael Haverty who has already cut the field and we will shortly put in additional turf in the most worn areas of the field (around the small square and at the 20metre line.
·       Thanks to Pat McCormack who has been keeping the grass verges cut.
·       Thanks to Matt Ryan who is ensuring that the grounds are being readied for the upcoming season.
·       We are also replacing the goal nets in the front field
·       We are also finishing thanks to Declan Kelly the stone façade at the wall beside the parochial house.
·       Our current plans include painting and upgrading the main room in the pavilion/ turning the shop into a ‘medical room’ also available to our physios for pre match and post match treatment of players.

All improvements and repairs are possible through your support of our regular fundraisers and the lotto in particular.

We are always looking for a few VOLUNTEERS who might help out at certain regular tasks

·       Lining the Field (simply that is rolling the liner marker over the lines that will be there) usually takes 45mins.
·       Remove photos from the walls in the main room and putting them up again with additional photos in a more orderly way.
·       Powerwashing of the steps and areas around the main building
·       Operating the new electronic scoreboard / putting out flags at matches etc.
·       Collecting Rubbish around the grounds

If you are interested in helping out and want to volunteer or just find out what might be involved will you contact Denise/Eamon/Patsy or Matt. No pressure if in the end you feel you cannot help out.
