Our Junior hurlers play Nenagh in the 4th round of the championship on this Friday evening at 7pm in St Michaels Park. We are also due to play Boherlahan in the County League final on Sunday.(check fixtures)
Congratulations this week to the Community games hurling team that gave a wonderful performance in the National finals in Athlone last weekend. Their first game they last out narrowly to St Patrick’s, Kilkenny after extra time. They defeated Athenry in their second game and they gave a great display in their final game against the combination of Shinrone/Coolderry winning a tight contest. However they were beaten into second place by the head to head with St Patrick’s after both team finished equal on points. All the players and mentors can be hugely proud of the team’s performance and all of these players have a great hurling future ahead. Thanks also for the great support the team had on both days.
We would like to extend sympathy to the family and relatives of the late Mary Flaherty, Barnagrotty who died recently.

The junior hurlers qualified to Boherlahann in final of the County League when they 7 points to spare over Knockshegowna on Saturday last in St Michaels Park.In the championship they are due to play Kiladangan on this Friday in Nenagh at 7pm.
All members are reminded that all request for tickets for the forthcoming All-Ireland must be given only to the Club Secretary Gary Delaney before Thursday 25th August.
Co Board Draw
Congratulations to John Joe Ryan, Kyleisk on winning €1000 and to George Haverty who won €200 also to Lisa Dunne and Gretta Delaney who shared a prize of €200.
Under 14 hurling
The under 14 hurlers had to work extremely hard to hold off the challenge of Nenagh in the quarter final last week,they play Kilruane McDonaghs in the semi final on this Wednesday at 6.30pm.
Under 12 hurling
The under 12 team lost out narrowly to Sivermines in the North final in Portroe on Saturday last.

Club Fun Day
Thanks to all who supported and organised the Fun Day on Sunday last.There was some great entertainment and all present were loud in their praise for the organising committee under the leadership of Lisa Dunne and Denise Hayes. Tipp senior goalie Darren Gleeson proved to be a big attraction and he had to call on all his goalkeeping skills with the many underage players that tried to score goals. Special thanks to Darren for attending and we wish him and his Tipp colleagues the best of luck against Galway on Sunday.

The minor hurlers qualified for the North semi final when they defeated Roscrea in Moneygall on Wednesday last.
The Gerry Kelly tournament was held on Sunday last in St Michaels Park. In the final Toome got the upper hand of J.K Brackens. Thanks to all who helped out on the day also to the referees and to Tommy Carroll who was coordinator for the tournament.
Community Fun Day
Takes place on This Sunday at 2.30pm. It should be an enjoyable day as their will be something to suit all age groups. There might a surprise guest or two on the day. There will also be a challenge for young hurlers and camogie players to test their skills. Fancy dress is also encouraged for the day.Come early.
Under 11 Tournament
The Gerry Kelly tournament takes place on this Sunday with the first round of games getting underway at 10.30am and the final is scheduled for 1.00pm. The following teams are participating Birr, JK Brackens, Kilnadeema-Leitrim and Toome. There should be some competitive games so come along and see the stars for the future.
All under 6 hurlers are reminded that training continues on each Saturday mornings at 10.30am.Its great to see the large turnout of young hurlers for training in recent weeks.
The Under 8 team played Kilruane McDonagh in a challenge game on Thursday last and training takes place on each Wednesday at 6.30pm
The Under 10 hurlers had a busy schedule last week when they played Kilruane McDonaghs in a challenge game on Thursday and then played in the Hogan Cup, a tournament organised by Lorrha on Saturday.
Under 12 Hurling
Our under 12 hurlers had mixed fortunes last week with the Green team losing out to Lorrha after a great campaign in the championship. Thanks to all the boys for a great effort over the past few months.
The Gold team turned in a good performance to overcome the challenge of Roscrea in the semi-final on Friday last. They now play the winners of Borrisoleigh or Silvermines in the North Final on Saturday 13th August.
The under 14 team lost narrowly to Silvermines but they have now qualified for the quarter final against either Nenagh or Kiladangan on Wednsday 10th August in St Michaels Park.
The under 16 hurlers produced a late rally to edge out Borrisoleigh in the championship played at St Michaels park last week. See Bord na nOg fixtures for next game.

A very successful Phil Shanahan Tournament U14 was held on Saturday. Congratulations to Cup winners Naas GAA Club and Plate Winners Lorrha/Shannon Rovers. Many thanks to the Shanahan family for presenting winners with their trophies. Thanks to everyone who helped in the organising of the tournament.
Our U12 Green and Gold teams made winning starts to their campaigns beating both Ballina teams in a double header.
U10 and U8 played Silvermines teams in very competitive matches on Wednesday evening.
Feile na nGael
Preparations are well advanced for Feile and our under hurlers and mentors are eagerly looking forward to arrival of Wexford champions Faythe Harriers on the weekend of 17th-19th June.
The junior A hurlers have a busy schedule this weekend when they travel to Emly for a county League fixture on Friday night and they will play Borrisoleigh in Templederry on Saturday night in the first round of the championship.

The organisers of the table Quiz held recently in the Tipp Inn would like to thank all helped in any way to make it a wonderful success in aid of the Burren Cherboynl project.The total figure raised on the night was €930 and further contributions have been received since for this worthy cause.special thanks to John and Liz Cromer for their hospitality to all who attended.

In the North Junior A league Toome had a convincing win over Silvermines at Dolla on Friday evening last. The final game in the group will be against Kiladangan

Under 12 Football
Our under 12 footballers had mixed fortunes at Kilcoleman on Monday last. In the B final we were victorious over Templederry while our team in the D section lost out to Ballina. Well done to all the players and mentors with both teams.
The juvenile presentation of medals will take place on Friday 13th May at 8.30pm. The successful under 14 team for 2014, along with the under 12 and under 13 teams for 2015, will be presented with their medals on the night. Should be a great night so arrive early.
Thanks to the Thomas MacDonagh commemoration committee for the invitation to participate in the historic parade on Monday last. Tom Hassett and Pat Hennessy had the honour of representing the club and thanks for all their help. Congrats to everyone involved in the organising of the parade etc in Cloughjordan on Monday.
Tipp v Cork
With the first round of the Munster championship on Sunday 22nd May. Members are reminded to submit their names to be considered for tickets for the game. Names must be given to club secretary before Saturday 14th May and tickets will be distributed on Tuesday 17th May at 8.30pm. There will be no tickets available through the club after that date.
The 2016/2017 Tipp Draw was launched recently and once again it is been coordinated by Gretta Delaney and Lisa Dunne. There are many fantastic prizes and we are hoping that the people of the parish will support this years draw . Thanks to everyone were members in the Draw over the past year.
On Friday last we were announced the winner of the TG4 competition.Well done to everyone.The club will receive a set of Jerseys,togs and socks sponsored by O’Neills.
In the second round of the county championship Toome got a share of the spoils with an injury time equaliser against Burgess. Their final game in the group will be against Moyne-Templetouhy.

There is huge interest on the forthcoming Greyhound Dash which will take place on Friday 20th May at 7pm.This event is for people of all ages and it should be great fun occasion and we encourage people to give it your support and is been organised by the Juvenile committee.

The senior hurlers have their first outing on Sunday next in the Challenge cup against Moycarkey-Borris in St Michaels Park at 12 o’clock.
In the county Junior League Toome will have a home fixture against Cahir on the weekend of 13th March.
The recent death of Paddy Cummins ended another link with with senior team of 1960. During a long playing career Paddy won intermediate and senior championships with Toome and a North Junior championship with Gortagarry in 1955. With his playing days over Paddy served the club as a member of the committee and as a selector with many teams. His love for Toome and Tipperary hurling knew no bounds and he attending games on a regular basis up to recent times. All GAA clubs have people that are often described as great stalwarts and it’s suffice to say that Paddy Cummins was such a man. Sympathy to his wife Mary and family.
The Annual 45 Drive fundraiser will be ongoing for the coming weeks. We need to play 27 games (of nine) with entry fee of €20 with very attractive prize money. If you would like to organise a game please contact any member of the committee.

Sale of Work
The annual sale of work will take place on this Sunday 28th February. Our local Auctioneer will get proceedings under way at 1pm so you are advised to arrive early to place you bid for some good quality timber etc.
All outgoing officers were returned on Sunday night last, Chairman – Joe McCarthy, Secretary – John Hogan, Child Welfare Officer – Catriona Ryan, Liaison Officer – Jackie Meaghar. All parents of under 12, 14, 16 and minor players are invited to attend a talk on this Saturday night 26th February in the complex at 7pm. Chris Moore, Chartered Physiotherapist, and Sinead Delaney, Nutritional Therapist, will be guest speakers on the night.
