We would like to thank everyone who contributed to what was a wholly enjoyable event in Naas Racecourse last Sunday. We would like to give an honourable mention to all of the staff at the racecourse itself, who had the venue in such commendable shape to accommodate the demanding needs of a concert. We would like to give worthy recognition to all members of the Nathan Carter Committee, who made the event possible. We would like to thank the acts who provided enjoyable entertainment on the day – defying the challenging weather conditions to make all the travelling to Naas worthwhile. Finally, we would like to thank everyone who supported and attended the event; they were responsible for the amiable and vibrant atmosphere that made the event such a success.
Our senior hurlers are scheduled to play Newport on Sunday in the County Championship in Nenagh at 12 pm. Please support.
After two enthralling games on Saturday, our under 12 teams left Puckane with an exhilarating victory and a heart breaking defeat. Playing against the breeze in the first half in both games, our teams struggled to adapt to the challenging elements, and fell behind to two well-prepared Borris-Ileigh teams. Our ‘D’ team turned around a 4 point deficit to win a memorable game by 1 solitary point, while our ‘A’ team fought valiantly to draw level after being 6 points in arrears, but unfortunately lost to a strong Borris-Ileigh finish. We would like to thank their mentors, George Frend, Bernard Hackett and David Kennedy, who had both teams so well prepared all year – losing only 1 game all year. We would like to wish our victorious team the best of luck in the County Championship.
Our under 16s defeated Roscrea by 2 points last Friday. They have guaranteed top spot in their group and have earned a home quarter-final.
Our minor hurlers defeated Lorrha Rover Gaels last Wednesday. They are at home to Kilruane this Thursday at 7 pm.
